1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using TutorLM ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

2. Description of Service

TutorLM is an AI-powered tutoring application that:

  • Processes uploaded PDFs and other educational materials
  • Creates personalized AI tutoring sessions
  • Generates sub-classes and learning modules based on your content
  • Provides interactive learning experiences

3. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use the App only for educational purposes
  • Upload only content you have the right to use
  • Not upload copyrighted materials without permission
  • Not use the App for any illegal or harmful purposes
  • Maintain the security of your account

4. Content and Materials

When you upload content to TutorLM:

  • You retain ownership of your original content
  • You grant us a license to process and analyze your content for tutoring purposes
  • We do not claim ownership of your uploaded materials
  • You are responsible for ensuring you have rights to the content you upload

5. AI-Generated Content

TutorLM uses artificial intelligence to:

  • Analyze your uploaded materials
  • Create personalized tutoring sessions
  • Generate educational content and explanations
  • Provide learning recommendations

While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Always verify important information from authoritative sources.

6. Subscriptions & Payments

Certain features of the App are offered via in-app purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions (“Subscriptions”). Billing and payment processing for Subscriptions are handled by Apple via your Apple ID account. By purchasing a Subscription, you agree to the terms in this section.

  • Auto-Renewal: Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless canceled at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Renewal Charges: Your Apple ID account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
  • Manage or Cancel: You can manage and cancel your Subscription at any time in your iOS device’s Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions. Deleting the App does not cancel your Subscription.
  • Free Trials: If offered, any unused portion of a free trial period is forfeited when you purchase a Subscription. After the trial, the Subscription automatically converts to a paid plan unless canceled at least 24 hours before the trial ends.
  • Pricing: Prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region and currency. We may change pricing prospectively; if we do, Apple may notify you and you can cancel before the change takes effect.
  • Refunds: Refunds, where applicable, are handled by Apple in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and applicable law. To request a refund, visit reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Taxes & Fees: Applicable taxes are collected by Apple. You are responsible for any carrier or data charges incurred while using the App.
  • Promotions: Promotional codes or introductory offers may be subject to additional terms disclosed at the time of the offer.

7. Privacy and Data

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

8. Intellectual Property

TutorLM, including its software, design, and branding, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may not:

  • Copy, modify, or distribute the App
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code
  • Use our trademarks or branding without permission

9. Limitation of Liability

TutorLM is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:

  • Any errors in AI-generated content
  • Loss of data or content
  • Interruption of service
  • Indirect or consequential damages

10. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to TutorLM at any time for violations of these Terms. You may also stop using the App at any time.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the App or email. Continued use of the App after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes will be resolved exclusively in the courts located in San Francisco County, California.

14. Apple EULA

This Agreement incorporates and is subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement. To the extent these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA will govern regarding your use of the App obtained through the Apple App Store.
